Required from 1 st September 2023 as a permanent position.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, inspiring and experienced teacher of design and technology to become head of design and technology in our successful, growing and vibrant art, design and technology department.

The teaching of design and technology is a real strength of the school. Design technology has excellent facilities, is well resourced and is a popular choice for students. The aim is to build progression for students with design technology included in the curriculum offer and extend it into key stage 5. The candidate should have the ability to deliver all areas of design & technology in key stages 3 and 4, with a desire to teach design & technology in key stage 5. Experience of teaching food and engineering at KS4 is desirable.

Netherhall School is a grant maintained, Local Authority, mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with a sixth form, situated in Maryport, Cumbria. The school achieved its first ever rating of ‘Good’ from Ofsted in 2018, was named Cumbrian Secondary School of the Year later the same year, is host to the Cumbrian Secondary School Teacher of the Year and Cumbrian Secondary School Student of the Year. The school has a rapidly rising intake and the sixth form has over doubled in size in the past few years, with 720 students of age 11-18 currently on roll.
