About the role:

Are you a great Teacher of Technology looking to make a career enhancing move into leadership or an experienced middle leader looking for a career-defining challenge?  Healing Academy has a proud history of being an outstanding school and providing wonderful education to this fantastic community. Our Academy achieves the best results in the region every year and we are significantly above the national average, something we are proud to shout about. The Technology department has been through a period of flux and we are looking to rebuild the team with fantastic professionals, dedicated to providing outstanding learning for our students. We are looking to build a new team around the specialisms of the incoming Head of Faculty and teaching team so whatever your specialism, you will have the opportunity to lead in this area.

North East Lincolnshire is a hotbed for Engineering with a huge range of chemical and renewable industries lining the Humber Bank. Our community would love to see this area of the school thriving and we are determined to invest in facilities that allow our teachers to support the community’s ambitions. The Academy is committed to giving our students a broad and balanced curriculum offer and we see Technology at the heart of this offer. This is a unique and exciting opportunity that will have a huge positive impact on the careers of the successful candidates for teacher and Head of Faculty as they fill the blank canvas that awaits them.

The STEM agenda is at the forefront of the Academy’s minds as we plan for the future. Given the local context and our own desire to see a coherent approach to STEM across the Academy and eventually across the Trust, this role offers opportunities down the line for further career enhancement in a cross-school role. Cross-curricular STEM projects, raising the profile of STEM in the trust, and an increase in extracurricular STEM projects such as Greenpower racing are all part of what promises to be an exciting future for the successful candidate.

The school is full of wonderful students and creative staff and, pulling together in the right direction, there is no limit to what we can achieve together.  We know our students are amazing and in this close-knit community we need teachers who can support and challenge our students to thrive.  We don’t recognise any limits to what our students or staff can achieve and we pride ourselves on providing excellent support and development for our teaching staff, at whatever stage of their career they are at. Our successful candidate will be enthusiastic and highly motivated, with a passion for their subject, strong values, and a desire to work closely with colleagues to get the best out of every student. This is truly a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and passionate teacher and leader to make a real impact within this department and the wider Academy.
