Tes is supporting the appointment of a Head of Design Technology at an academy based in Nottinghamshire.
Design and Technology at the academy is a practical, valuable and hugely popular subject. It enables students to actively contribute to the creativity, culture, wealth and well-being of themselves, within the community. It teaches how to take risks and so become more resourceful, innovative, enterprising and capable. Students develop a critical understanding of the impact of design and technology on daily life and the wider world. Additionally, it provides excellent opportunities for students to develop and apply value judgments of an aesthetic, economic, moral, social, and technical nature both in their own designing and when evaluating the work of others.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a well-qualified, driven professional, who is an outstanding classroom practitioner. You will be an inspiring leader with the energy and creativity to lead and motivate a large team. You must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of their students and share their single goal of ‘students first’.
You will be an excellent teacher with the ability to deliver at Post 16. You will also have the leadership experience and the ability to challenge individuals within your team whilst supporting them to achieve outstanding results.
They need a leader who is passionate about their subject and keen to drive their department to provide young people with the best possible education whatever their background or ability.
