Values and vision
St Margaret's School for Girls believes that its single-sex setting helps to create a sympathetic but challenging learning environment. Teachers aim to offer their pupils a fully-rounded education through which each girl can realise her full potential. It endeavours to provide each student with sound academic knowledge, which is essential for entry to higher and further education, and to industry, business and the professions.
St Margaret's wants its pupils to become socially aware and prepared to cope with the challenges of a competitive world. Students are encouraged to show concern for those in the wider community within and beyond Aberdeen.
St Margaret’s is proud to have been named The Sunday Times Scottish Independent Secondary School of the Year 2020.
Good Schools Guide
“This is, we think, an outstanding school with a committed and inspirational head who quietly and firmly leads from the front. Single sex education doesn’t work for everyone, but the girls we saw were confident, unaffected and engaged. No preening, no hair flicking. Just happy, really.”
