We are seeking to appoint a committed and dynamic Head of Drama to join the Expressive Arts team from January 2019.
Co-op Academy Manchester opened in September 2010 in a new build and is sponsored by the Co-operative Group, which is one of Manchester’s largest businesses. The culture of the Academy has a strong ethical stance, using the co-op values and principles to inspire individuals in the academy to develop as global citizens.
This is an incredibly exciting time to be joining the academy as September 2018 saw the opening of our new state of the art 300-seater theatre and purpose built Drama Studios. Music and Art have also moved into brand new purpose-built accommodation, and the whole learning zone is ideally located to really forge strong collaborative working practices. There is already a healthy culture of exciting extra-curricular activities across Drama and the arts subjects, and the new facilities will only strengthen this further, unlocking new possibilities for our students and our community.
In 2014, the academy outperformed other sponsored academies nationally and was judged by Ofsted as ‘Good’ with many outstanding features. We are delighted that at our recent re-inspection in February 2018, the academy was again judged to be "Good" with many outstanding features and further improvements since its previous inspection.
