This role will lead the Council's approach to the provision of universal and targeted early learning and childcare services, promoting and facilitating an early intervention approach. You will develop and improve early learning and childcare services and lead on the provision of services for children with additional support needs, ensuring effective integration and consistency with wider services for children.

A record of achievement at senior management level in an education/children's services environment (preferably within the early years or inclusion field) is essential. A thorough knowledge of legislation relating to additional support needs, inclusion and early years is also vital, along with proven experience in strategic policy development and implementation; the development and management of strategic partnerships; service improvement; and successful budgetary management and control. A degree or relevant professional qualification and membership of professional institution/association are essential requirements.
