Job overview

We are seeking a highly professional, enthusiastic and committed Head of Education to lead, manage and further develop Harmeny's educational provision for children with complex SEBN and, through membership of the senior management team, contribute to the implementation of our ambitious strategic plan. The postholder will have overall operational responsibility, along with the Head of Care, for the day-to-day running of Harmeny School, including the residential services throughout the year.

The successful applicant will have strong leadership and management skills, a deep understanding of the social, emotional and therapeutic needs of children, and a commitment to working in an inter-disciplinary way. The post also requires a passion for and skill in learning, teaching and assessment, and an in-depth understanding of Curriculum for Excellence, its application across the school, and its integration with Getting it right for every child.
