The role offers a unique, rewarding, and rare opportunity to be part of the executive leadership team in a highly specialised school environment with residential provision.

Set in the Dawlish residential community in the very beautiful South Devon, our newly merged weekly residential special school, Orchard Manor School, will provide an all-through provision for children and young people aged 3-19 years with a continuum of needs including autistic spectrum conditions, communication and interaction difficulties, learning difficulties and social development needs.

You will be committed to putting children and their families at the heart of all decision making, and developing an outstanding 'waking curriculum' to ensure the very best outcomes for each of our pupils You will understand the importance of securing and maintaining highly effective relationships with the school community, and the importance of empowering our pupils, staff and parents. You will maintain high expectations and challenge to raise the level of achievement and outcomes for all our pupils.

This is an exciting opportunity to create a forward thinking and outward looking centre of educational excellence in a highly specialist educational and residential setting that provides the highest quality of education and care to all our pupils.

The successful candidate will have proven leadership experience in a successful setting. You will have high emotional intelligence and be a proven team player and builder, able to lead by example, modelling the highest of professional standards to promote the highest possible standards of achievement, progress and personal development for all members of the new school.
