Dulwich College International (DCI) was founded in China in partnership with Dulwich College, a leading independent school in the UK with a 400-year history of innovation and academic excellence. Since Dulwich College Shanghai opened its doors to just 26 students in 2003, enrolment at Dulwich College International schools has grown to 8,000 students hailing from more than 60 countries. The group now comprises nine schools in seven cities across Asia.

Our Schools

All our schools are co-educational and English is the primary language of instruction.

Our seven International Colleges are located in Beijing, Seoul, Shanghai (Pudong), Shanghai (Puxi), Singapore, Suzhou and Yangon. These are through schools, catering for children from age 2 upward , and the student body is largely expatriate. Children up to age 5 follow the Early Years Foundation Stage and from Years 1 to 9 they follow the National Curriculum of England and Wales, modified to meet the needs of international children. Year 10 students embark on IGCSEs, and in Years 12 and 13 all our students follow the IB Diploma Programme.

Our two International High Schools, located in Suzhou and Zhuhai, cater for Chinese students aged 14 to 18 who plan to attend university overseas. These schools offer IGCSEs followed by A-Levels.

We take pride in our creative, motivated and well-rounded students. Our schools are academically selective, and our students consistently achieve academic results that place them among the world’s best and gain them admission to leading universities and art institutions in the UK, the US and around the world.

The DCI Network

As a network, our schools leverage their talent and resources to expose our staff and students to a rich choice of experiences that individual schools could not offer on their own. By virtue of our group’s relationships with leading educational and artistic institutions, DCI staff and students have worked and performed alongside actors from professional theatre companies in the UK, singers from the Vienna Boys’ Choir, students from the Royal Northern College of Music, mathematicians from Cambridge, and innovative musicians from the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Annual events include the Diversity series of performing arts workshops, the Dulwich Festival of Music, the Science and Art Photo Competition, the Shakespeare Festival, the Mike Gatting Cricket Festival, the Shackleton Lectures, and the Student Leadership Conference.

Our Teachers

DCI recruits forward-thinking professionals with the passion and drive to put ideas into action. We support staff members at all levels that are interested in conducting action research, and we offer a wide-ranging programme of professional development as an integral part of each staff member’s career development path.

Our teachers can draw upon a wealth of resources and experience, not only from our central academic team, based in Singapore and Shanghai, but from each other. We encourage staff members to take advantage of our network to form professional relationships with their peers at their sister DCI schools and to share ideas and best practice.

DCI teachers have the opportunity to build their careers within the Dulwich family of schools, and a number of our staff members have moved from one DCI school to another in the past ten years. All our schools offer a competitive salary package in addition to generous benefits.

Because we put students first in all that we do, safeguarding and child protection are of paramount importance in DCI schools. All staff involved in recruiting are trained in our safer recruitment procedures, and all new staff take part in safeguarding training on arrival. Training is tailored to the needs and responsibilities of staff groups, and is periodically refreshed throughout staff members’ tenure in our organisation.
