Dehong International Chinese Schools are sister schools to Dulwich College International schools. Their shared vision is to create the best schools in the world. The first Dehong school in the family, Dehong Shanghai, opened its doors in 2017. It offers a premier holistic and bilingual education for more than 800 Chinese students aged 6 to 18 in one of the Far East’s most vibrant cities. 

With the appointment of Caroline Xu as Executive Principal in August 2022, Dehong Shanghai is about to enter an exciting new phase in its evolution and now seeks to appoint a highly experienced senior leader as Head of the Elementary School. As a member of the Dehong Core School Leadership Team (CLT), the appointee will deliver a vision for the Elementary School which builds on existing strengths and further develops relationships with the Secondary School in order to cultivate a strong one-school ethos. They will also support the move to a brand-new purpose-built campus, and this is an exciting opportunity to think about how this new space can be used to deliver the very best in bilingual education.  

The Head of Elementary School will be an experienced and adaptable leader with a track record of successful primary leadership experience. They will possess the cultural awareness and global perspective to lead a diverse learning community and offer the demonstrable experience of contributing to school development and building school culture. First-class communication skills with the ability to inspire students, staff and parents alike in the pursuit of excellence are essential, as is a genuine resonance with the Dehong guiding principles: Students come first, One Family of Schools, Pioneering Spirit.

Dehong Education Group is a dynamic and rapidly growing family of International Chinese schools in major cities in China.  

Dehong Shanghai International Chinese School, opened on 1 September 2017 and located in the Qizhong villa area of Maqiao, Minhang District, offers a progressive learning plan from elementary school to high school.
