Welshpool High School is a caring and open community that strives to achieve the best for every one of our students. It is also a highly successful school in academic, cultural and sporting terms. We are a happy and confident school.
As a school we reflect the best of traditional values and practices while responding to the needs of a changing world.
Students are encouraged to be self-disciplined and to show a sense of mutual respect. They are encouraged to aim high and work hard towards the fulfillment of their ambitions and potential. We want them to hold high expectations of themselves and their school. A rigorous academic mentoring programme supports this and parents receive reports three times a year to inform them of their child’s progress.
Young people need to learn to work with adults in a co-operative and purposeful way and we view the partnership between home and school as essential to successful education.
One of our greatest assets is the quality of staff. There are active links with business and industry and a close relationship exists with our primary schools. The Governing Body serves the school extremely well.
