We are currently recruiting for an outstanding Head of English to join us at Sunninghill Prep School.

As our Head of English you will share our passion that education should be child-centred – shaped by the development of each individual’s character.

Sunninghill Prep School is a thriving 3-13 co-ed Prep school nestled in the heart of rural Dorset’s county town of Dorchester. A single form entry school with a stable 130 pupils on roll. Facilities are excellent and the magnificent Jurassic Coast is but a short mini-bus drive away. The school’s mission is to provide an outstanding, individualised and holistic education in a stimulating learning environment that prepares all pupils for a happy, healthy and fulfilling life. The aim is to inspire each and every individual to have the confidence and desire to achieve their full potential within a nurturing, supportive community that empowers pupils to be themselves and do their very best.

We are looking for a passionate and well qualified Head of English who can lead the delivery of outstanding teaching in mathematics across the school. We welcome applications from experienced heads of department as well as English teachers looking to progress into a leadership role.  

As Head of English at Sunninghill you will:

·        Manage and support the Teachers and Assistants of English to enable them to meet the Development Plan targets for English.

·        Manage the curriculum and teaching & learning development in English from the Foundation Years through KS1 and KS2 through to KS3, where appropriate.

·        Actively support continuous improvements within the school.

·        Manage the development and procurement of resources for English.
