Job overview

Head of English Faculty

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and motivated practitioner to lead the English and Media Studies Faculty from September 2023.

We are looking for an experienced middle-leader to work with a highly skilled team of teachers. This role will be fundamental to maintaining the high standards and outcomes of English and Media Studies at Central Foundation. The role is both demanding and rewarding and requires a team player who is keen to work collaboratively and contribute to a strong ethos of sharing good practice, resources and ideas.

At Central Foundation we are committed to our vision of “transforming lives through a Central education”. We believe that by providing the highest quality education for our students, they are empowered to be positive and successful contributors to the world beyond school.

If you share our vision and believe that you can rise to the challenge of holding high expectations and continuing our journey of school improvement and excellence, we would be delighted to receive your application.

Pupils are safe and happy. They welcome the personal and academic support that teachers provide. Pupils respond well to teachers' high expectations. They achieve well and many go on to attend top Universities. Pupils appreciate the consideration given to their mental health. They say that school is like a second home. Pupils' behaviour is excellent and teachers and pupils show respect for each other. The offer for pupils' wider development is extensive.

At Central Foundation, we believe that all students should be given the opportunity to excel in all aspects of school life, not just in their academic studies. As active members of our school community, students are given opportunities to take part in a huge variety of activities and events in school. We also encourage all our students to apply for the many student leadership projects and initiatives run by the school and to join in our amazing after school and holiday programme, Central+.
