Haltwhistle Community Campus is embarking on a journey to join the Bright Tribe Trust and is seeking to appoint an energetic and enthusiastic Head of English, who is passionate about giving young people the opportunity to learn in new and innovative ways, developing their skills and delivering real opportunities for their future.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within Bright Tribe Trust a growing multi academy trust which, together with its sister trust Adventure Learning Academy Trust, works with schools in the north west, south east and south west of England and is currently setting up a new hub in the north east.

Bright Tribe is passionate about giving young people the opportunity to learn in new and innovative ways, to develop their skills and to deliver real opportunities for their future. Haltwhistle Community Campus is situated in the picturesque town of Haltwhistle, claiming to be the town at the centre of Britain! Nestling beside the River South Tyne, Haltwhistle is the closest town to the stunning central section of the Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage site and the Northumberland National Park.

We are looking for a Head of English who:

  • is able to support staff to develop an inspiring and engaging English curriculum
  • will coach, mentor and develop staff teaching English
  • has the desire and capacity to lead English
  • has experience of working successfully and co-operatively as part of a team
