Tes is supporting the appointment of a Head of English at this Special Education School in

Shropshire.

They are looking for the right person to join a close-knit team and help develop and drive the English Curriculum.

As Head of English, you will promote a relentless focus on the quality of education and delivery of a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum that meets the needs of children and young people along with producing positive outcomes.

You must be willing to work with students with SEMH needs.

The successful candidate will be an innovative, reflective practitioner who can demonstrate the willingness to adapt and learn.

They are looking for an individual with high expectations and standards who can offer excellent behavioural management skills. An additional strength would be a creative, engaging approach to curriculum design and planning for pupils.

The successful candidate may have industry experience and experience of working with young people with a range of complex learning needs.

You will be able to demonstrate a working understanding of how these needs impact upon learning and behaviour in the classroom.

You may have specialist knowledge and experience of working with children with social, emotional and behaviour difficulties.

The school are looking for an individual who is able to help inspire and engage the young people that they serve.

This is an opportunity for the successful candidate to develop their skills and experience in a challenging, motivating and highly rewarding environment.

Previous experience of working in a SEMH environment would be desirable, excellent support skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are also just as important.

You will have a Degree and Teaching Qualifications and experience teaching English.
