MPS/UPS TLR 1c of £15,690 (up to £63,529)

 

Following the promotion of our current Head of English to Assistant Headteacher we are looking for our first new Head of English in eight years. There are 8 teachers in the English department with a wide range of experience within the team. 

 

We offer GCSE as well as A Level English Literature and are looking for someone to continue to develop the subject, working closely with our Librarian to further develop reading as a core skill. This vacancy would suit an experienced teacher that has outstanding leadership and organisational attributes, preferably with some prior leadership experience in your current post

 

An ideal candidate will have:

  • An ability to enthuse and engage different types of learners.
  • A commitment to ensuring that all students achieve and in many cases exceed their targets.
  • An ability to teach A level
  • A proven track record of success in either leading improvements in standards of attainment or leading a Key Stage within the English Department.
  • An ability to lead and inspire a team of 8 dedicated and committed staff

Slough and Eton is a great school and I am immensely proud to have joined it as Headteacher in September 2017.  Pupils and students at Slough and Eton are expected to work extremely hard and are encouraged to achieve their very best in all that they do.  As a result of their tremendous work ethic they achieve extremely well and we are very proud of them.  We believe in educating the whole child and as such place great importance on the many cultural experiences we provide for pupils and students as well as the academic ones.
