Head of Faculty – Engineering, Automotive and Aerospace
Salary: £45,204 - £50,210 pa plus excellent benefits
Hours: 37 per week (1FTE)
Exeter College is a large, thriving and growing tertiary college which places teaching, learning and student success as our top priority. We enjoy an excellent regional reputation. The College was judged as outstanding by Ofsted in a pilot "no notice" inspection in 2012, and again in a public inspection in 2014. In 2017 Exeter College was awarded the TEF Gold Award for our University Level Provision. We have high expectations of our students and staff and each year their combined efforts result in excellent examination grades, outstanding learner success rates and superb music, arts, sports and community achievements. We welcome apprentices and students of all ages and abilities and our tutorial and learner support programmes are designed to meet their needs, challenging them to reach their full potential.
This is an ideal time to join Exeter College as the Head of Faculty of Engineering, Automotive and Aerospace as it is thriving and successful and has a fantastic opportunity to serve our local community further now that we have a new £3m extension in advanced manufacturing and robotics. We are looking to appoint an inspirational and dynamic Head of Engineering, Automotive and Aerospace to join our high performing College Leadership Team.
The faculty has Good and Outstanding provision and delivers courses from Level 1 through to Level 5 across all areas in our ‘state of the art’ facilities in Exeter, to include a new £3m extension focussed on advanced manufacturing and robotics and at the Flybe training academy. We have strong links with many local and national employers for who we deliver bespoke training and support their apprentices. The faculty has seen a significant rise in recruitment numbers both on full time and work based learning provision as well as in Higher Education and Higher Apprenticeships. The team are passionate about delivering exceptional teaching and learning, providing the very best progression opportunities for learners and have a high percentage of their students go on to study their chosen subject at University or apprenticeships.
Due to local priorities, skills shortages and changes to Apprenticeship Standards there is a real opportunity to grow all provision, with support from the college, local employer forums and the Local Enterprise Partnership. You will be creative, inspirational, entrepreneurial and driven to provide the very best learning experiences for our students. You will have an eye for detail and be able to design and implement creative curriculum design to meet both learner needs and employer demand. You will have strong leadership and management experience within the vocational sector coupled with a flair for enterprise and be able to contribute to our outstanding College.
