We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, ambitious Head of Faculty for English to start in September 2018. The Taunton Academy is an 11 – 16 mixed comprehensive school located on the outskirts of Taunton with 650 students on roll. We are rapidly growing in terms of pupil numbers and this is forecast to continue over the coming years. We have state-of-the-art facilities and a talented, caring team of staff. Praised for our excellent leadership, significant progress and improved GCSE results, this is a great time to join the academy and contribute towards achieving an ‘outstanding’ rating from Ofsted.

Pyrland School (formerly The Taunton Academy) is a secondary school (11 – 16), located on the outskirts of Taunton with approximately 830 students on roll. We are rapidly growing in terms of pupil numbers and this is forecast to continue over the coming years until we reach capacity (1200). We are the first academy to have joined the Richard Huish Trust, with exceptionally close links to the Richard Huish College – an outstanding sixth form college at the heart of the Taunton community.
