Head of Faculty:  Creative Industries

MPS/UPS + Allowance £4000  (a leadership scale contract may be available for a suitably experienced candidate: range L1 – L4)

We are evolving and expanding and are now looking to recruit talented colleagues to strengthen our team. FRA is broadening its curriculum at KS3 and KS4, and we are looking for an inspirational colleague to champion the creative subjects. 

Applications are invited from specialists in the following areas: Media Studies, Drama, Music, Design Technology, Food/Catering and 3D Art and Design. 

We are looking for a qualified teacher who is determined to keep creativity at the heart of the curriculum, and we are keen to recruit someone who shares our belief that vocational pathways should remain available to all students. We aim to develop a range of business/ industrial links and opportunities. 

This new role will bring together the creative subjects into one Faculty; it will promote and celebrate creativity and adventurous learning. The post-holder will link the curriculum to real-world learning opportunities and actively explore and encourage a wide range of employability routes within the creative industries. 

As a leader, you will be multi-skilled and able to move effortlessly between being a team member who is a genuine collaborator, to an independent expert in your field, to a facilitator, to a coach. Whatever role you adopt at any given time, you will be positive, enthusiastic and inspirational to those working with and around you.

About Fowey River Academy

Fowey River Academy is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school situated in Fowey, Cornwall. There are approximately 684 students at the school, between the ages of 11-16.

Fowey River Academy was established in 1692 as Fowey Free School, opening to 30 pupils from low income families. The school has since been a boarding and grammar school throughout the years. In 2014, it received academy status, changing its name from Fowey Community College to Fowey River Academy.
