Teachers’ Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Scale + TLR1b (£9,473pa)
Are you an aspirational teacher looking for a new challenge?
Do you have a proven track record as an outstanding classroom practitioner?
Required for September 2018 we are looking to appoint an exceptional, enthusiastic and dedicated professional, with drive and ambition, to join our school as the Head of Humanities.
The position provides an exciting opportunity in a school which is committed to high quality teaching and learning and student success. As an outstanding teacher who has high aspirations, energy and commitment to work with the staff and students at our school you will play a key role in our journey to achieve even greater success.
As Head of Humanities you will have excellent interpersonal skills, a proven record of raising standards, be innovative and inspiring and have the ability to turn ideas and opportunities into success. You will be forward thinking, capable of inspiring students and staff through your passion for teaching and have a firm belief in the potential of all. The Humanities faculty consists of six subject specialists who deliver Geography, History and R.S. to years 7-13. The faculty has its own specialist teaching rooms and a wealth of resources which are constantly being added to and improved. The faculty strives to engage and motivate students through teaching well planned and resourced lessons which both support and challenge. Lessons are increasingly personalised. In 2017 GCSE results for History and R.S. were good as were A level results for Geography and History. Each year good numbers opt to take Humanities’ subjects at GCSE and A level. The ability to teach a Humanities specialism to A level is required and being able to offer Geography would be an advantage but not essential.
Bushey Meads School is part of the growing Bushey St James Trust and has the ambition to become a centre of excellence with the capacity to be able to offer expertise and support to schools across the Trust. We want to recruit, develop and retain the highest calibre of staff who can work at the highest level and secure outstanding progress for our students. Transport links are good with the M1, M25, A1 and A41 being close by.
