Beaconsfield High School, an outstanding girls’ grammar school, has a rare opportunity for an energetic, highly motivated Head of Faculty, with a determination to support our elite sports as well as inspire and enthuse all students towards sports. You will work with a highly enthusiastic and skilled team of PE, Dance and Psychology specialists who have led students to great successes locally and nationally, in Netball and Hockey. The Faculty is driven, as our public examination results show. Beyond outstanding results our school is filled with remarkable young people who want to learn and are rapid learners- a dream come true!
We seek an outstanding candidate to maintain and build upon this record of success, fostering elite performances alongside delivering a broad, balanced and engaging PE curriculum. Our Head of Faculty will take responsibility for the teaching PE across the Key Stages and will aim to help us to broaden the experiences for our students in PE and Dance. Our Head of Faculty will be able to teach Physical Education to A-Level, and be prepared to coach elite teams in either Netball or Hockey.
Dance is a strong and creative department with a very good track record of examination success. It is popular at GCSE and has run at A-Level. However, we are open to new ideas that inspire and help our students to enjoy the subject even more.
The Dance and PE department boasts an extensive extra-curricular programme that aims to cater for our elite performers and also offer sport for all. The extra-curricular teams are hugely successful especially in hockey, netball, gymnastics and athletics.
Psychology is an exciting and popular subject that is always oversubscribed. Students visit universities to develop an understanding of what studying it at degree level will be like. The management of this area is established and reliable.
We hope that you will want to come and see for yourself. If so, we are very happy to welcome you and show you. We recognise this is a busy time of the year for you and your students and so understand if this is not possible, and so will provide a tour by our students when you are invited for interview.

Closing Date: 9am, Monday 1 July 2019
