Haywood Academy has outstanding facilities including a new science area, a redesigned engineering building, music, drama, English, maths and humanities areas. We also have a new sports hall, technology block and a unique visionary Learning Tower designed by our students and the BSF programme which has further enhanced our already extensive ICT resources.
The Humanities Faculty is staffed by an enthusiastic and creative team of teachers, who are continually reviewing their teaching practice to give students an outstanding learning experience.

Haywood Academy is a successful academy that provides high quality education for the young people of Burslem, and the surrounding area in Stoke-on- Trent.
We are popular and oversubscribed with 1114 students on roll.
The Academy has been consistently graded as ‘Good’ by Ofsted. Its latest inspection was in April 2023 where it received an extremely complimentary report.
Haywood was the founding member of the City Learning Trust and was the first convertor Academy in the City of Stoke on Trent.
The Academy is also the only Academy in the country to win two national awards of excellence from the DfE in the same year, the Regional Pupil Premium Award and the Regional Character Education Award.
