Salary: Within the SFCA Leadership spine range L5 £53,910 to L7 £56,706, subject to any approved pay award. Appointed position on spine will be dependent upon experience. This is a leading curriculum role in our structure and is remunerated as such using the SFCA Leadership spine.  

The Head of Faculty (HoF) will be directly responsible to the Assistant Principal and be one of a highly successful team of six HoFs. The faculty has 19 team members (including Course Leaders) and approximately 900 students. The HoF is supported by a Course Leader for each course within the faculty; 

• A level Maths 

• GCSE Maths 

• A Level Biology 

• A Level Chemistry 

• A Level Physics 

• BTEC Extended Certificate in Applied Science (Human Biology) 

• BTEC Extended Diploma in Applied Science 

The successful candidate would ideally be required to teach A Level Maths (but other teaching subjects will be considered) for 13.5 hours and be allocated 1 hour flexible support time and 9 hours remission per week. They may be required to be a Course Leader for A Level Maths.  

Science is one of the highest performing teams in the College and results are consistently above Sixth Form College averages both for raw outcomes and value added.  The team delivers A Levels in biology, chemistry and physics and a range of BTEC courses in Applied Science.  The team consists of 13 teachers and 6 technicians who work collaboratively to ensure that students receive an enjoyable, challenging learning experience and realise their full potential.
