Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated teacher to lead the Faculty of Maths, ICT/Computing and Design Technology at The Douay Martyrs Catholic Secondary School, Ickenham, West London. We were graded as a ‘Good’ school in 2017 and as ‘Outstanding’ in all areas in our section 48 Inspection in 2018. We are a school focused on growing leaders and working within one of the top Catholic Trusts, DOWAT.

This is a very important post within the school; the successful candidate will join the Curriculum Strategy Group and will have the opportunity to influence whole school curriculum and assessment as well as lead a large and successful Faculty. 

Maths is a thriving subject, outcomes in the faculty are extremely strong and are continuing to improve each year. in 2022 GCSE overall outcomes were in the top 10% nationally, with 85% of students achieving grade 4+, and a maths Progress 8 score of +0.50. Outcomes were equally strong at A-level where both Maths and Further Maths are extremely popular subjects.

Large numbers of student’s study ICT/Computing at GCSE, BTEC and A level; and Design Technology and Food preparation and Nutrition are also vibrant and popular subjects delivered by the Faculty.

The successful candidate will be well supported; with opportunities for professional and career development and for collaboration with other schools in our Catholic Academy Trust, and local, Primary and Secondary Schools. 

We would expect the successful candidate to have experience and strong knowledge of A-Level Mathematics, and/or Computer Science.

We offer Secondment opportunities to the Core Leadership Group. This post became available following the appointment of the current post holder to a Leadership role. We are committed to promoting staff well being.
