At Kingsbury High School we do things differently.
We have long given up on “grading” lessons; instead we focus on using coaching to improve teaching and developing a growth mindset with our students.
We focus on doing what is right for our students – not what ticks the box for Ofsted. We are working hard to develop a culture of staff well-being; our in-service programme includes an annual well-being day and work life balance evenings. Opportunities for further professional development are offered in particular through our membership of the Harrow Collegiate Teaching Schools Alliance.
Prospective candidates are welcome to come and look around the school to see for yourself what makes Kingsbury High different. As a large 12 form entry 11-18 split site school we are situated in an inner London location, but with an out of London feel – surrounded by parkland with large playing fields and great local amenities. Our school is truly diverse in its makeup, whilst united as one family working to achieve the best for all our students.
The Faculty comprises of PE, Expressive Arts and Music. PE is a thriving Department within the Faculty: there are currently 9 full time teachers in the department and a Curriculum Associate. GCSE PE is a popular subject at GCSE and we are about to re-introduce A level. We have a thriving sports leadership course in the Sixth Form, currently numbering 6 groups in Years 12 and 13. The Faculty works to develop student leadership across the school and runs our annual programme of 12 “Excel” (enrichment) days.
We are looking to appoint an ambitious and talented teacher of PE to lead the Faculty. The successful candidate will be able to motivate and inspire the team whilst demonstrating excellent classroom practice. You will have a proven record of success either in leading PE or in another TLR role within your school.
