St Rita's College, in the Brisbane suburb of Clayfield, is a Catholic secondary school for girls with an enrolment of 1030 students.  St Rita's seeks applications from secondary teachers who excel in one or more disciplines within The Arts and who hold or aspire Faculty leadership responsibilities.  

The ability to teach within at least one Arts subject area is required.  

The ability to teach within one or more additional subject areas, and in particular Religious Education, may be advantageous.  

St Rita's College offers an extensive curricular and cocurricular Arts program. Departments under the Faculty - The Arts include Music, Drama, Visual Art and Film, Television and New Media. Head of Faculty responsibilities also extend to the St Rita's College Dance Company, the TheatreSports program and Speech and Communication tuition. An Arts Festival is hosted annually and a College Production presented every three years.   

The Head of Faculty - The Arts leads the teaching and learning program within all disciplines of The Arts and carries responsibility for the ongoing development and supervison of The Arts curriculum in line with national, state and local priorities.  In assisting our students to reach their personal and academic best, suitably qualified applicants should be highly competent in secondary school based Arts programs and have ability to provide leadership and management of the learning program and of the professional development of staff within the Faculty.  

Applicants should embrace current pedagogical thinking, should hold the ability to effectively manage Arts curricular programs and be able to demonstrate ability as an outstanding program coordinator with a commitment to student welfare.  

  • Sound ability to teach at least one Arts subject is required  
  • Sound ability to teach within one or more additional subject areas, particularly Religious Education, may be advantageous 
  • All applicants must hold current Queensland Teacher Registration
