Reporting to the Business Operations Director, the Head of Finance has responsibility for providing professional management of the Finance function to ensure the financial wellbeing of the School. As a pivotal function in the School the holder will be instrumental in the development and implementation of the School’s development plans.

This role would suit someone who is an excellent accountant and wants to move into a role that works closely with senior teaching staff and other support departments such as IT, operations and HR to align goals, strategy and information sharing. By fostering open channels of communication and developing an environment wherein ideas can be shared, the Head of Finance can have an impact that shapes the entire organisation.

We want to hear from you if you can offer the following:

  • A qualified accountant experienced in financial accounting and reporting, management accounts, cash management and budgeting
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with initiative underpinned by good organisational skills and a proven track record of working to deadlines
  • Proven ability to form and maintain successful working relationships both internally and externally e.g. with stakeholders, staff, other Dwight schools, bank.
  • Ability to manage, motivate and inspire your team
  • Proactive with energy, drive, tenacity and sound judgement coupled with a willingness to innovate
  • Values that are aligned with Dwight’s vision & values and commitment to the values of the International Baccalaureate’s learner profile and mission of education for a better world
