As a Gold ‘Investor in People’,  SGS Group’s Finance Department has an exciting opportunity for a hands-on Head of Financial Systems & Reporting to join their team. The role, reporting to the SGS Group Chief Financial Officer, is responsible for ensuring financial reporting is systems driven to provide accurate, timely financial information that will enable managers to understand performance in their activities in the College and thereby improve financial effectiveness.

The successful candidate will need to be a CCAB qualified Accountant and will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:   

  • Experience of implementing finance software and developing reporting 
  • Experience of all aspects of financial control and compliance, profit and loss balance sheet and cash flow responsibilities 
  • Preparation of statutory accounts, financial information, budgets and forecasts 
  • Report writing

You will have the ability to successfully manage priorities, and be able to work calmly and proactively under pressure, whilst maintaining a strong customer focus. Strong mathematical and IT skills, experience with finance software packages, the ability to adapt quickly, and a keen eye for accuracy are also essential for this role.

The Forest High School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school situated in Cinderford, Gloucestershire. The school has approximately 333 students at the school between the ages of 11-16.   

The Forest High School was established in the 1970s, originally named Double View. The secondary school converted to academy status in 2012 under the name Forest E-ACT Academy, but changed name to The Forest High School in 2015 when it changed sponsorship. It is now sponsored by the SGS Schools Trust.
