Alleyn’s is a thriving, co-educational, HMC independent day school in Dulwich, South East London with a separate IAPS Junior School on the same 30-acre site. The School has around 1000 pupils overall, including a large and dynamic Sixth Form, the majority of whom go on to first-class universities in the UK and overseas.

Following the appointment of our current Head of Department to the position of Housemaster at Alleyn’s, we are seeking to make a full-time appointment for September 2017 of an excellent, committed, enthusiastic and dynamic teacher as Head of Food and Nutrition.  The successful applicant will provide professional leadership and management of the Department to secure high-quality teaching, effective use of resources and the highest standards of learning and achievement for all pupils.  To this end, she or he will possess excellent organisational and administrative skills, while at the same time being able to inspire pupils and staff alike.

Food and Nutrition is compulsory in Years 7 and 8, becomes an option in Year 9 and is taught at GCSE level (AQA).  As a department it plays a key role in the School’s Enrichment and co-curricular programmes.

Alleyn’s has its own competitive salary scale and accommodation may be available.

If you wish to apply, then an application form is available on our website here. This will need to be completed, together with the Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form, and we also require a CV and covering letter.

Alleyn’s School is an Equal Opportunities employer, and welcomes applications for all posts from appropriately qualified persons regardless of age, disability, ethnicity, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, religion or belief.

Alleyn’s School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

The deadline for applications is 12 noon on Tuesday 21 March 2017.
