Wellfield is a small school with an exciting future. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Head of Foundation Faculty and Religious Education specialist to further develop the faculty into a vibrant and vital area of the school. If you are a highly effective teacher and leader with the ability to motivate and develop a team of dedicated colleagues then come and visit us.


The successful candidate will join a team of dedicated and supportive professionals who are committed to providing outstanding learning experiences and raising achievement for all.  Working as part of our close-knit team you will inspire and develop outstanding classroom practice with high aspirations for students. Through your passion for learning you will develop new and creative ideas, embedding an enjoyment of your subject into lessons and the wider school. You will be primarily responsible for:

• The leadership of the Foundation Faculty team, including Geography, History, RE and Spanish specialists, ensuring the management of staffing and resources and the quality of teaching and learning.

• Working with subject leads, within the faculty, to quality assure the development and implementation of schemes of work and assessment.

• Subject leadership of Religious Education, working collaborative with RE specialists across Endeavour Learning Trust on the development and implementation of schemes of work and assessment in RE.

• Provision of effective and targeted CPD and support for teachers within the faculty, in collaboration with the Assistant Head for Teaching and Learning.

The candidate will have opportunities to work with other colleagues in the Trust and Schools Alliance to support and develop RE and the Foundation Faculty with our family of schools.

As part of the interview process candidates will be required to teach, potentially at short notice, a lesson along with a presentation on their vision for the Foundation Faculty at Wellfield Academy.
