Job overview
We are looking to appoint an experienced teacher and leader for Head of Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 commencing August 2023. The successful candidate will sit on the Associate Leadership Team and hold a significantly reduced teaching load.
Requirements:
· Fully qualified teacher holding Qualified Teacher Status with minimum 5 years’ experience in both the Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1.
· Experienced in leading key areas of school improvement in a Middle Leadership and/or Senior Leadership capacity and can demonstrate subsequent impact.
· Committed professionals who are dedicated to raising standards in alignment with the schools vision, mission and values.
· Teachers and leaders with secure knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and National Curriculum for England.
· Outstanding practitioners and leaders with the ability to establish innovative practice amongst the teaching team built on current pedagogy and forward-thinking initiatives.
· Teachers and leaders with a natural desire to learn, contribute to and participate in the schools Professional Learning Community.
· Skilled at using digital tools to ensure that learning is enriched and relevant to complement the schools ‘Apple Distinguished School’ status.
· A professional who works collaboratively both within the immediate team and across the wider school community.
Key Responsibilities:

· In-keeping with the Arcadia vision, mission and values, provide strategic direction and a clear vision for Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1.
· Maintain oversight and liaise with relevant curriculum leaders to drive innovative curriculum design, continuity and progression bespoke to the needs of Arcadia Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 students.
· Using prior experience and teaching expertise, lead by example through modelling, mentoring and coaching teaching and learning whilst playing a significant role in the performance management process.
· Establish smooth transitions for students who are transitioning into a new curriculum, key stage and/or school.
· Remain accountable for data outcomes and utilisation of assessment data in Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1.
· Act as a central point of contact for parents and staff members who are working within Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1.
· Forge strong and collaborative relationships with external school networks.
· Work closely with other departments to ensure all students are reaching their potential.
· Work closely with the admissions department to increase enrollments in the Foundation Stage.
