Main Scale + TLR 1c (£7619)
Full time & Permanent
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Head of Geography & Global Learning Co-ordinator to join our outstanding Humanities faculty.
You will be responsible for leading the work of our Geography department including tracking pupil progress, developing the Geography curriculum and supporting the development of teachers in the department. You will be one of five heads of department working under the guidance of the Head of Humanities.
Additionally, you will have a role in developing the school’s global partnerships. We have already established relationships with schools in Guatemala, Spain, France, Nepal and China. We are keen to grow these partnerships further as well as looking for new opportunities to broaden pupils’ understanding of the world in which we live.
You must have a passion for teaching and learning in Geography, a desire to help pupils and staff understand global diversity and the leadership skills to be inspirational and motivating.
It is intended that the role would be based at Rushcliffe School but the diversity of academies within the Group will provide fantastic opportunities for teachers to develop their practice and skills.
Rushcliffe is a highly successful, oversubscribed school serving a pleasant, suburban area of Nottingham. It has a strong tradition of pastoral care, academic excellence and extra-curricular enrichment. We are committed to providing high quality training and development opportunities for all staff.
As part of the Trent Academies Group, we work across the group to support and share good practice with likeminded colleagues. Our aim is to make sure everyone is given the chance to shine brightly, maximising academic achievement and personal growth.
