Head of Geography
We are looking for an inspiring, engaging and talented teacher who has the relevant skills to teach and across the key stages including A Level and lead the Geography Department. The successful candidate will be passionate about their subject, dedicated to providing exceptional learning experiences within and beyond the classroom, and keen to contribute to wider aspects of School life.
Candidates are sought who can demonstrate a successful track record and particular aptitude for:
● Subject knowledge
● Developing the practice of colleagues
● Communication and relationship-building;
● Planning, implementing and managing change
● Teamwork and attention to detail
● Enthusiasm for and experience in running fieldwork
● Interest and experience in curriculum development
● Encouraging school and wider community involvement in issues of sustainability
This post has arisen as a result of the growth of Westonbirt School. The current Head of Geography is stepping down from the role to focus on other leadership responsibilities within the school.

About Westonbirt School
Founded in 1928, Westonbirt School is a secondary school with a sixth form for boys and girls between the ages of 11 and 18. There are currently around 500 pupils enrolled at the school. It is situated on 210 acres of land in Tetbury, Gloucestershire. The school has a thriving boarding community. Pupil numbers have grown rapidly since the transition to full co-education in September 2019. A whole site development masterplan is in place which has seen significant investment in new teaching spaces, boarding accommodation, sports facilities and infrastructure.
