An innovative, talented and forward-thinking Head of Geography is required from September 2018, for a permanent position.
Our popular Geography Department is made up of six members of staff and runs very successful examination courses in GCSE and A Level, alongside an exciting enrichment programme. Geography is a well-resourced department; students have lively debates, engaging opportunities and active teaching and learning in lessons.
The successful candidate will be someone who can teach across the full age and ability range and be prepared to take part and lead educational trips. All applicants must have a track record of excellent Geography delivery and demonstrate a passion for the subject with the ability to inspire a love of learning. The ability to offer a second subject would be highly desirable.
George Abbot School is a large 11-18 mixed comprehensive, situated in the northern side of Guildford, within easy reach of the town, the A3 and London Road railway station. It is a forward-looking and dynamic school which has a reputation for excellence in every area. George Abbot became an Academy on 1 July 2011 and went on to be a founding member of the GEP multi academy trust.
