The role

We are seeking to appoint an innovative and dynamic Head of Geography who is able to teach at KS3 to KS4. The work is varied, rewarding and an exciting opportunity to help in the delivery of education to young people.

About You

You will need to have QTS and a good honours degree in the relevant subject area.

The successful candidate will need to be able to work independently as well as part of a team. You will need to be able to work under pressure, have excellent communications skills, and be computer literate.

You will have experience in delivering high quality teaching and learning, be a consistently good to outstanding teacher and have high personal and professional standards.

You will be enthusiastic about working within a school environment, and supporting the needs of the Academy.

About the Cluster: The two United Learning South London Academies – Lambeth and Hurlingham formalised a cluster arrangement in September 2018 with the vision to provide a high quality and comprehensive partnership in order to support and nourish our local young people. This arrangement has allowed us to share knowledge and expertise across both academies.

About Hurlingham Academy: Located just south of Parsons Green in the west London borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, the small 11-16 school is the kind of place where you can make a huge impact at every level and in every role, whilst being able to enjoy the benefits of a central London location. With calm and friendly classrooms, staff and students have the perfect environment to do what they do best: teach and learn.

We are seeking to appoint committed and hardworking staff who are passionate about making a difference to the lives of our children and young people.

Additional information: For an informal discussion about the role please contact Ian Ilett at Hurlingham Academy on 02077312581.

It is important that all applicants complete the full application process.

United Learning

The Hurlingham Academy is part of United Learning, a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.

Our schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resource, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.

As a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight INSET days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.
