Details about the post
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, dynamic and passionate Head of Geography to join a forward-thinking and well-established team. This post has become vacant due to the promotion of the current post-holder to senior leadership. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and learning, the ability to challenge and excite students’ minds, and have highly effective communication and leadership skills. In 2017/18 Geography was one of best performing subjects at GCSE and the department has an admirable reputation for its consistent drive to raise attainment. The post requires strong leadership of the curriculum area with sustained focus on the highest standards of teaching, learning, assessment, and student progress across KS3-5. You should uphold commitment to innovative ideas, and an interest in developing fieldwork and opportunities to learn beyond the classroom is highly desirable.
