We are currently seeking an experienced Geography teacher with the ability to take on the responsibility of Head of Geography or have the ambition and enthusiasm to do so with support from the Humanities Faculty.
You will be self-motivated, independent and have the ability to deliver quality teaching across the curriculum at GCSE and A Level, AQA specification is taught for both. Geography is a highly popular subject with students at both GCSE and A Level. The Humanities faculty is ‘outstanding’ with results consistently exceeding national averages.
The Downs School, a Foundation, 11-18 comprehensive, is a, ‘outstanding’, oversubscribed and popular school serving the Downs area of West Berkshire. The roll is nearly 1200 with a well-established sixth form. Results at all levels are consistently above national averages and Ofsted described our students as having ‘excellent personal and social skills’ who ‘achieve well academically’.
The Downs School has good road links to Newbury, Reading, Didcot and Oxford – situated just 10 minutes from the A34.
