Head of Geography
We are looking to appoint an ambitious and inspirational Head of Geography with superb leadership skills and a proven track record of excellent classroom practice to lead this successful and popular department.
You will need to be a dynamic and forward-thinking Teacher of Geography to continue to develop the department within the Humanities faculty. You will be able to motivate and inspire pupils across both Key Stage 3 and 4, be committed to high standards of learning and student progress with the energy and vision to build on current progress and have ambitions for yourself and our school.
This is a full-time permanent position to start September 2019 with a TLR2A worth £2,721 for the Head of Department role.
About the College
Penryn College is a lively thriving college with an excellent reputation who cater for boys and girls aged between 11 and 16 years with a current number on roll of 1135 and we pride ourselves on offering the very best for our students.
In 2008 we moved into our £24 million pound new school building, which has a great range of resources, including an information rich environment, state of the art sporting facilities including a 6 badminton court size sports hall, the latest generation astro turf pitch, our own climbing wall and now includes iPads for every student to support their independent learning.
Our College buildings and 10 acres of grounds are used extensively by the community for adult education courses, sporting activities, performances and fund raising activities. Our unique relationship with surrounding primary schools - known as the "Penryn Partnership" - helps primary children to settle in to the college whilst adjusting to their new environment.
In July 2011 we became an Academy and are committed to maintaining all those things that staff, pupils and the community value about Penryn College.
