Job Profile: Head of Geography

Salary: MPS/UPS (Fringe) plus competitive TLR, negotiable with skills and experience


This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational and experienced Geography teacher to lead our thriving Geography Department. The successful candidate will lead, develop and inspire the department to deliver challenging, innovative and stimulating lessons so that high standards of attainment, pupil progress and teaching practice are achieved. They will also be responsible for the operational and strategic planning of the department, as well as managing the departmental team and playing a full part in the life of the school community. Suitable candidates will need a proven excellent record of teaching Geography at GCSE, excellent subject knowledge, with good organisational and time management skills. The successful candidate will teach Geography at KS3 and 4 and lead the department which has a high profile within the school and comprises of experienced subject specialist teachers. If you are a good communicator who can motivate and inspire both pupils and colleagues and have exciting ideas about the teaching of Geography and the ways in which Geography can be further developed and encouraged, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Chertsey High School is a community school located in the South-East, London Fringe area close to excellent train and road links. Established in 2017 as a new free school, we are a non-faith school founded on strong Christian principles. Our vision is underpinned by our values of knowledge, determination and love.
