Job overview

We are seeking a full time Head of Geography to lead and manage our Geography department. We expect to appoint a fully qualified teacher who has experience of the British curriculum.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to a lead a dedicated team, and to teach motivated and resilient students in an exciting and well-resourced department. 

Geography is taught in all year groups; it is a popular option at GCSE level and has excellent uptake at A level and IB. In the Sixth Form, both A Level (AQA) and IB are offered with many students opting to complete an Extended Essay in Geography. The Geography department has a long record of high academic achievement in external examinations and takes great pride in preparing students for university entrance.

Our Geography Department:

The department is committed to learning taking place beyond the classroom and currently runs a number of international fieldtrips – including to destinations as diverse as the Jurassic Coast, Dorset and The Swiss Alps. At Key Stage 3, the department conduct several local fieldtrips in a range of locations across The Netherlands. We would be particularly interested in innovative and dynamic teachers who would enthusiastically contribute to the wider co-curricular aspect of the department.

This post will be equally attractive to applicants with appropriate experience wishing to take their first steps in middle leadership and those who are already able to demonstrate leadership in their current post.
