Job overview

The School

The Webber Independent School is a small friendly co-educational day school for children from 3-18 years. Work with us and you will be part of a supportive and inclusive community that consistently achieves excellence.

The Role

We require a committed and experienced individual who is enthusiastic, passionate and has high expectations of all students. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding teacher to lead a successful and driven PE department. The successful candidate will have the ability to teach PE across the full age range of the school and must have experience of teaching Netball, Hockey, Tennis, Athletics, Gymnastics, Dance and Rounder’s to a high standard. The appointee will have responsibility for the PE department including organising all sports fixtures. Experience of teaching academic PE at both GCSE and A Level is essential.

We are a very active school where extra-curricular opportunities are numerous and inclusive to all students. Lunchtimes are packed with activities and after school is often busy with fixtures in all sports throughout the year. The PE curriculum is varied, covering a range of activity areas and different sports. Students are engaged and motivated to take part in lessons to the best of their ability. Leadership development is a key focus within the department where opportunities are given to build confidence and stretch more able students.  In addition to a contribution to clubs or activities as explained above, all staff play a part in the pastoral system, usually as form teachers, and all staff contribute to duty Rota’s.  Pay will be commensurate with ability and experience within this framework and can be discussed at interview.

GEMS Education

As part of the GEMS worldwide network of schools you will have countless opportunities to develop professionally and grow your career – at home and abroad. GEMS teachers are engaged teaching professionals, who embrace new ideas and pioneer exceptional practice. If that sounds like you, we can’t wait to support you along your career.
