 Forest School seeks an inspiring and dedicated Head of Government and Politics to provide professional leadership and management of the Department, to secure high-quality teaching, effective use of resources and on-going development of learning and achievement for all pupils. 

Government and Politics at Forest School has a long and successful history and results have been strong. The subject is currently offered in the Sixth Form only, where it is popular with students, but the successful candidate may ultimately wish to find ways of developing the subject throughout the school, within either the academic curriculum or the school’s flourishing co-curriculum. The person appointed will therefore build on an impressive legacy of success in the subject as well as having ambitious and innovative plans for future developments. 

The Head of Government and Politics is required to be an outstanding teacher, leading by example, and also to manage and monitor the delivery of an appropriate curriculum which is challenging, differentiated and well resourced. Heads of Department at Forest are expected to develop their subjects, be innovative and inventive, and drive forward exciting educational initiatives that improve pupils’ learning experiences through inspiring their teams.
