Job overview

A dynamic, visionary and experienced leader is sought for Hatherop Castle, a highly regarded co-educational day and boarding prep school for boys and girls aged 2 to 13.

Hatherop Castle is set in a stunning rural location in the heart of the Cotswolds. Here children have the freedom to enjoy a happy and adventurous childhood, growing in confidence and skills, and benefiting from a full and challenging curriculum. The outstanding academic provision ensures that all children achieve entry to their first choice of a wide range of selective independent secondary schools, as well as Gloucestershire’s highly sought-after grammar schools. In March 2016, the school was found to be Excellent in all categories in its ISI inspection. The pupil roll has grown by one third in two years, but the school retains enormous potential providing a rare opportunity for an ambitious Head.

Hatherop Castle joined the Wishford Schools group in February 2014. Since then, it has undergone an extensive programme of development and refurbishment, including improvements to classrooms and boarding accommodation, investment in staff and IT facilities, and the building of an impressive Performing Arts Centre. The coming years will see further significant investment and the successful candidate will play an important role in setting and delivering this vision.

With support and investment from Wishford Schools, the new Head will lead an already very successful school to a new level, enchancing the school’s offering and facilities and consolidating its position as one of the leading prep school in the area.

Further information about the role and details on how to apply can be found at www.rsacademics.co.uk/vacancies/head-hatherop-castle-school

Closing date for applications: 10am on Wednesday 9th November 2016

Hatherop Castle is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare children. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
