Established in 2003, Liceul Teoretic Scoala Mea (LTSM) has become a leading bilingual school (Romanian - English) that incorporates both the Romanian State and Cambridge International Curriculums. We started offering Cambridge IGCSE exams from 2019. Cambridge Primary and Lower Secondary programmes for English and Science were then being developed and we adopted them as soon as we could in 2019 along with the national Romanian curricula.

Currently LTSM is running Cambridge Lower Secondary programmes for Science and English as a First Language and Cambridge Upper Secondary for three subjects in three distinct routes:

  • Route 1: English as a First Language, Economics and Maths
  • Route 2: Physics, Computer Science, Maths
  • Route 3: Chemistry, Biology, Maths

 

According to their IGCSE results, some of our students choose to continue with the Advanced Cambridge Programme.

Starting with September 2023, LTSM intends to authorize a distinct Cambridge international route for Lower & Upper Secondary and Advanced  (years 7-13).

We pride ourselves on having strong relationships between our teachers, students and parents, as well as working closely within the larger community through charity fundraisers and interschool events. 

We are looking for a new principal to join our team and foster a healthy learning environment for our students from years 7 to 13. Your primary responsibilities will be to authorize LTSM as a Cambridge International School for the Secondary & Advanced Department (11-19 years old), to provide oversight and leadership in guiding the launch of international route’s first academic school year ,including developing initial programmatic, staffing, curriculum, and opening procedures and to supervise our education staff and oversee day-to-day school operations. 

To succeed in this role, you should be able to make quick decisions under pressure and have a comprehensive understanding of the Cambridge education system and its regulations. Excellent communication and organizational abilities are also important skills you should demonstrate as a principal. 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day school operations 
  • Manage school logistics and budgets
  • Set learning goals for students and teachers based on Cambridge curricula
  • Monitor and report on teacher performance
  • Present data from school performance to board members
  • Research new resources and techniques to improve teaching 
  • Interview and hire school personnel
  • Review and implement school policies in collaboration with LTSM school management team
  • Provide guidance and counseling to teachers 
  • Handle emergencies and school crises
  • Organize school events and assemblies
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment for students (e.g. implementing hygiene rules)
  • Attend conferences to gain knowledge on current educational trends


Requirements and skills

  • Previous experience (5-7 years) as a principal or in a similar role
  • Knowledge of school administrative processes and Cambridge educational regulations
  • Hands-on experience with MS Office and education management systems
  • Attention to detail
  • Great presentation and communication skills
  • Crisis management
  • Ability to coach and inspire 
  • A teaching license is preferred
  • Degree in Education; Master’s degree is a plus
