Start date:  1st September 2020

Purpose of the role

Cathedral Schools Trust (CST) Trinity Academy is seeking to appoint a Head of History and/or Religion, Ethics and Philosophy from 1st September 2020.

This is a unique opportunity to join a team that will create and establish a new school. We will eventually want to have a Head of History and a Head of REP but during the developmental phase for the school we need someone to oversee and to teach in both areas. The majority of the teaching next year will be in history.  We are open to creative conversation around the make up of this role - essentially we are looking for an expert teacher who has the potential to be an outstanding middle leader.

Core roles:

Embrace the vision and values of Trinity Academy

Maintain high standards and achievement through being an exceptional middle leader

Provide professional leadership and management for the History and REP department.

Be accountable for the progress and attainment of all students at all key stages. Our stated aim is to be a +1 school for every student.

Provide support and challenge for colleagues to help develop the highest quality of teaching and learning.

Develop and implement a Departmental Improvement Plan by evaluating the quality of student outcomes and learning.

Track the progress of students and vulnerable groups, promoting effective interventions.

We encourage you to be succinct and to restrict your supporting statement to no more than four pages in length.

Closing date: Tuesday 25th February 2020

Interview: Thursday 12th March 2020

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and the post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
