We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, capable and enthusiastic Head of History, with a proven commitment to inclusive, innovative and inspiring leadership and teaching where each and every child can succeed. The post represents an exciting opportunity to be part of a vibrant and ambitious Academy working within the Ted Wragg Multi-Academy Trust.

Our school is located on a recently designed campus with purpose-built accommodation, offering spacious and excellent teaching and learning facilities. We currently have a roll of 664 students, building up to a capacity of 950, and are keen to expand our teaching staff to reflect the future growth of our school.

Isca Academy prides itself on a tradition of being an inclusive community school. Indeed, our students have a broad range of abilities and aspirations on entry, from able, gifted and talented to students needing more support with literacy and social skills. Beyond academic credentials, we firmly believe in the value of a more rounded education which promotes creativity, self-belief and confidence, and as such we pride ourselves on our exceptional extra-curricular and outdoor education programmes.

Our team of History specialists offer a creative and chronological approach to the teaching of History, where all students and their needs are catered for. From iPads to artefacts, from textbooks to trips, our History department has a variety of learning resources to help offer our students an innovative, rigorous and diverse learning experience. At KS4 our students currently study WJEC History Route B, with modules on Crime and Punishment, Germany and 20th Century USA. Our modules at KS3 help students to focus on developing the key historical and personal skills needed for achievement at the highest levels.
