An opportunity arises for an outstanding Hockey Coach to take up the position as Head of Hockey at Ardingly College, bringing together the Prep and Senior School under a single and integrated hockey coaching system.
Applications are invited from those with a professional hockey background, and/or from those from a teaching background. Depending on your profile and experience, you may be required to teach an academic subject up to a 30% timetable allocation. Hockey specialists without teaching experience are also encouraged to apply.
Hockey is the major sport for girls in the Michaelmas term and for boys in the Lent term. The College has two Astro facilities one of which opened this year.
To be successful, you will:
- have a proven track record of working with talented young players ideally from U8-U18; excellent organisational skills;
- the ability to lead a very talented group of coaches, some of whom are currently playing premiership Hockey;
- have the ability to develop strong links with local hockey clubs in the area.
This is a great opportunity to build on the already strong reputation of Ardingly hockey and help create a clear developmental pathway for hockey that runs right through the School.
The willingness to participate in the school’s busy co-curricular programme is essential. The ability to coach a summer sport (tennis, cricket or athletics) would also be an advantage.
