An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified and experienced secondary school teacher to join our School in the leadership role of Head of House (Roff House).  Commencing in 2021, this is a permanent full-time teaching position with the Head of House role being a tenured position of responsibility for an initial period of 3 years.

The role is based at our Senior Campus and is an integral part of the School’s pastoral care programme. The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing the wellbeing and academic progress of students in the House.

Applicants will have:

• a qualification or prior experience in student welfare is desirable but not essential,

• demonstrated passion for engaging and challenging students,

• contemporary knowledge of issues facing adolescents,

• an ability to provide leadership, that builds and drives House culture,

• an ability to plan and implement House programmes that support student wellbeing,

• personal attributes including concern for others, cooperation, integrity, attention to detail and being a role model.

• tertiary qualifications in Education,

• current registration with the Tasmanian Teacher’s Registration Board, or be eligible for registration,

• current registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Tasmania), or be eligible for registration.

Remuneration will be in accordance with the Launceston Church Grammar School (Teachers) Enterprise Agreement.

The School


Launceston Church Grammar School is a co-educational Anglican School that has two campuses: The Broadland Campus and the Mowbray Campus. 


The Broadland Campus is located in East Launceston (five minutes from the CBD) and caters for Pre-Kinder to Grade 6.  The Junior Campus is in the candidate stage of gaining full programme authorisation with the Primary Years Programme (PYP) which is now fully embedded within the curriculum.  


The Mowbray Campus is located in Mowbray (ten minutes from the CBD) and caters for Grades 7 to 12.   Launceston Church Grammar School has a Boarding House, which is located at the Mowbray Campus and accommodates students from Grades 5 to 12
