Head of House
L5-9 £44,106 - £48,687
Full time permanent
Required for September 2019
Phoenix is a multi-cultural 11-19 secondary school, serving 1800 students in the north of West Bromwich close to the border with Walsall in the West Midlands. Opened in September 2010, as a result of the merger of two local schools, Phoenix has established itself as one of the highest performing schools in the area, an accolade achieved through commitment to continually improving the quality of teaching and learning and the provision of an exciting and dynamic learning experience for students.
An Ofsted visit in March 2015 and a further 1 day visit in March 2018, recognised Phoenix as a ‘Good’ school, with a ‘no limits’ culture, driven by the uncompromising belief that all students will be successful as they move onto the next stage of their lives. Phoenix is a school that aspires to turn every child’s dream into reality; believes that there is no limit to what can be achieved and succeeds through passion, commitment and determination.
We are seeking to appoint a passionate and outstanding Head of House to join our effective house system from September 2019. The successful candidate must have excellent personal skills, highly effective behaviour management skills, be able to lead and motivate our students and act as a role model in maintaining our high expectations and aspirations.
This position provides an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher to develop their passion for learning and create a positive and inspiring learning environment for our students. This will suit a teacher who has a proven track record within a pastoral role and is looking for a new challenge.
Phoenix is one of only a few schools nationally to benefit from the government’s priority schools building programme and our state of the art facilities are second to none.
The students and staff at Phoenix face an exciting future. If you would like to be part of a school that is committed to becoming the very best, and if you can inspire and motivate our students, you could be the person for this role.
