An inspirational Head of Humanities with Geography Specialism is required for The Dorset Studio School on The Kingston Maurward Estate.
In September we become the only Studio School in the country to admit students in years 7 and 8.
To meet the needs of our growing intake we are recruiting a Head of Humanities with the skills to strategically lead within our dynamic team of staff at this exciting time of development within the school.
The ability to deliver KS3 and 4 Geography is essential whilst experience of and an interest in BTEC Travel & Tourism will be advantageous.
Working on a 750 country estate, our students specialise in animal and land based learning, within a rural context. Conservation and environmental awareness are vital aspects of the curriculum.
In partnership with Kingston Maurward Agricultural College, young people have the opportunity to complete their 11-19 studies, within a fully operational, commercial environment, which provides hands on learning in the rural industries.
Our interdisciplinary approach to learning will be delivered in a Forest School context, which includes the extensive outdoor learning and opportunities for work experience.

The Dorset Studio School opened in September 2014, welcoming students to a brand new specialist school designed to equip young people with the skills, knowledge and experience they require to succeed in work.
Dorset Studio School offers this new concept in education, where 11–16 year olds can benefit from a different model of learning that captures and channels potential to the highest levels. Dorset Studio School is an Academy and part of a national network of similar schools supported by the Studio Schools Trust.
